Dr Krishnakumar K S- Plastic Surgeons at Aster MIMS
Dr Krishna Kumar serves as the Senior Consultant and HOD at the Department of Plastic, Vascular and Reconstructive Surgery. He is an expert in most advanced reconstructive procedures that include arm, hand and face defects. He deals with burn injuries to aesthetic enhancements and peripheral nerve injuries to congenital deformity corrections.
Dr Krishna Kumar is the Regional lead for Smile Train in North Kerala, which provides free cleft surgeries. He has presented and published extensively in national and international conferences. He has also been presented with numerous international awards including “Best Paper of the Conference” award from New Zealand Plastic Surgeons Association Annual Conference, Auckland.
Prior to joining Aster MIMS, Dr Krishna Kumar was working as Consultant Plastic & Micro Vascular Surgeon at Baby Memorial Hospital. He was an examiner and trainer for MRCS for the Edinburgh and Glasgow colleges.
He has obtained M.B.B.S from Trivandrum Medical College and M.S in General Surgery from Kasturba Medical College Mangalore. He has secured his FRCS from Edinburgh, Glasgow and MCh in Plastic Surgery from Trivandrum Medical College. Dr Krishna Kumar also holds a FRCS and CCT in Plastic Surgery from British Association of Plastic Surgeons. He was Fellow in Micro surgery and Hand surgery at Christine M Kleinert Institute, Louisville, USA.
