Strained is a stretch or tear on the tendons.it occurs when a single movement occurs repeatedly. There are two types of strain acute and chronic strain.

  • Symptoms: – Symptoms of chronic strain are muscle spasms, weakness, cramping, and immobility. Also, pain, bruising, and swelling are normal symptoms of strain. A symptom of strained occurs after eight to fifteen days.
  • Causes:-excessive stretch of muscle is the main cause of strained tendon. Accident, fall, heavy lifting, chronic muscle strain injuries.
  • Diagnosis: – The physician performs a physical examination by studying the patient’s symptom history. The diagnosis is confirmed with the X-ray images.
  • Treatment:muscle strain is can cure with the relaxation of the muscle. But it more susceptible to the re-injury. Ice pack helpful to reduce swelling and the compression bandage is useful in the treatment of strain. Over the counter drugs like pain killer, anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxants also helpful in the treatment. Massage therapy for muscle relaxants is the best choice for the stain treatment.
