Immunotherapy is help to stop growth of cancerous cell which help to stop spreading of cancer to other parts of body. Also it is help to destroy the cancerous cells. The different types of immunotherapy are available, some are noted below.
- Monoclonal antibodies and tumor antagonist therapies: – Antibodies are the weapons produce by immune system to fight against infection. Monoclonal antibodies are made up in the laboratory. Monoclonal antibodies are used as targeted therapy to block the infected cells or destroyed the infected cells.
- Non-specific immunotherapies: – Non-specific immunotherapy is a therapy given with the or after cancer treatment. Commonly Interferons and interleukins immunotherapies are used. Interferons are help to slow the growing rate of cancerous cells. Interleukins cells help to destroy the cancerous cells.
- Oncolytic virus therapy: – Oncolytic virus are the genetically modified viruses used to destroy the cancer cells.
- T-cell therapy: – In T-cell therapy T—cells removed from patient body and specific proteins are added into the t-cells, which help to identify and destroyed the cancerous cell.
- Cancer Vaccines: – Cancer vaccines help to trigger the immune system and destroyed the antigens related material. Prevention and treatment vaccines are two types of cancer vaccines.
