A lazy colon, also commonly known as lazy bowel syndrome, is a condition where a person suffers from constipation and painful bowel movements. This happens because the bowel movements are rather sluggish. It can be sometimes be chronic and be caused due to eating disorders, severe diet, use of narcotic substances, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), or simply the reliance on laxatives.
The symptoms can be managed at home by making changes in your diet. Include more fibre, cut down on caffeine and dairy products, including almonds, apples, bananas, figs, broccoli, cauliflower, to your diet. If you rely on laxatives, it is usually advised to switch to natural laxatives such as green tea that help improve your digestion.
