In these tests the small metal electrodes are get attached to the scalp to identify the electric activity of brain. EEG is useful diagnosis for the epilepsy and other brain disorders.

  • Uses:-EEG helpful in the diagnosis of brain tumor, brain damage due to trauma, encephalopathy, encephalitis, stroke, sleep disorders. It is also helpful to see the improvement in the person in coma.
  • Procedure:-Patient must have to avoid taking caffeine it may affects on test result. Before starting the test technician measure the head and puts marks for the detection of electrodes. Then by using gritty cream technician attached the electrodes in the scalp. Sometimes elastic cap with electrodes are used to record brain waves. Patient has to relax during test. The small activities like movement of eyes, reading, looking at picture, deep breathing or looking in the light are carried out to capture the movement of brain. All body movement is capture in the camera while doing test. The combination of body movement and brain waves help doctor to diagnose and treat the patient condition. After Carried out the procedure the electrodes are removed from the patient and patient are allow to return on normal routine.
