Fanconi syndrome is occurs when excessive amount of glucose, bicarbonate, phosphate, uric acid, potassium and amino acid are excreted in the urine due to tubular dysfunction
- Cause: – fanconi syndrome is rarely occurring syndrome. Its causes due to chemotherapy, vitamin D deficiency, kidney transplantation, multiple myeloma, amyloidosis, cystinosis or amino acid metabolism disorders.
- Symptoms: – The children with fanconi syndrome may fail on proper development; the rate of growth is decrease down. Chronic kidney disease, kidney failure also causes bone or kidney tissue damage in childhood.
- Diagnosis: – blood and urine test.
- Treatment: – Fanconi syndrome is incurable syndrome but it can be controlled by taking proper care. Oral intake or sodium bicarbonate and potassium supplement help to control the symptoms. Kidney transplant is also help to control the symptoms of syndrome.
