Omphalocele is congenital defect causes dislocation of abdominal organs and intestine due to hole in the navel area. Omphalocele are different in size, small size. Omphalocele is causes dislocation of liver and large Omphalocele causes more than one organ dislocation.

  • Cause: – During fetal development in mother’s womb the organs like liver, bladder, stomach, ovaries and testes developed in the mother’s womb outside the fetal body and then return into the fetal body. In Omphalocele condition the all development organs remain outside the body with covering of membrane. This conditions cause due to cavity present in the abdominal wall. The specific cause for the cavity present in abdominal wall is still not detected. Other problems like chromosomal abnormalities, congenital diaphragmatic hernia abnormalities in heart and kidneys may cause due to Omphalocele.
  • Treatment: – surgery is main solution for the Omphalocele. Protective sac which prepared by manmade material are stitch to the place. After baby grown the organs are push into the abdominal cavity.
