Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia is an infection cause by Pneumocystis jirovecii spread in the lungs that causes inflammation and excessive fluid development in the lungs.

  • Symptoms: – Fever, dry cough, wheezing, shortness of breath, fatigue, chest pain, cold, weight loss.
  • Causes: – The person having week immune system or having disease like HIV, AIDS are high risk people for the infection. This infection cause by tiny parasite which affect the lungs as well as eyes, ears, skin, liver and other organs.
  • Treatment: – for the treatment of pneumocystis carinii pneumonia combination drugs are used like trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole. These drugs may shows side effects like skin rashes.
