Admin_NHT Staff asked 6 years ago Kostmann syndrome is rare disease cause by decrease in the count of mature neutrophils cells less than 500cells/mm3. Decrease in neutrophils cell count is occurs due to bacterial infection like otitis media, pneumonia, sinusitis, urinary tract infection, liver abscess or skin abscess which affect on bone marrow. Kostmann disease is first described by Rolf Kostmann in 1956. There is no any treatment available for the Kostmann disease. The children born with Kostmann syndrome may cause various bacterial and viral infections and may cause death within three years age.
