Mediastinoscopy is process in which biopsy procedure in which lighted instrument is inserted in the between lungs and chest. General anesthesia is used for pain management. Endotracheal tube is place in patient nose and mouth to solve breathing problem. Small surgical incision is made between breastbones. Tissue sample are taken of lymph nodes around the airways. Scope is removed and incision is closed with stiches. All procedures are complete within one hour.
