Skip to content- It is a pathological condition of the eye characterized by more than one pupillary opening in the iris. It is a very rare condition.
- Causes : It is often congenital. Conditions that are associated with polycoria include:
- Detached retina
- Polar cataracts
- Glaucoma
- Abnormal development of pupil margins
- Abnormal eye development
- Symptoms :
- Blurred vision in the affected eye
- Poor, dim and double vision
- Oblong shape of the additional pupils
- Iris tissue bridge between the pupils
- Pupilloplasty is the only treatment option available but its success is not guaranteed.
