Suturing technique is ancient technique for the closing cutaneous wound. The materials of sutures are changes day by days. Sutures are classified in the many types the types but the two main types of sutures are absorbable and non- absorbable.

  1. Absorbable sutures: – Absorbable sutures are no need to remove the enzyme in the tissues is naturally digest these sutures. Examples of such sutures are Gut, polydioxaone, poliglecaprone and polyglactin
  2. Non-absorbable sutures: – Non- absorbable sutures are needed to remove after fixating the problem. Examples of non-absorbable sutures are Nylon, polypropylene, silk, polyester.
  • Procedure: – Needle holder is used to hold the needle at the distal portion of body as depend on the surgeon preferences. The needle holder must hold needle until the first decline the catches. The needle holder should not be tighten it may cause damage to the needles.
