Admin_NHT Staff asked 6 years ago Infantile spasms are child epilepsy. This disorder may shows problem in child development, learning and awareness. Child suffers from infantile spasms within four to six month after birth.
- Symptoms: – Child having infantile spasms shows less smiling, more irritable, sadness, inconsolable and less interactive and not involved in the surrounded atmosphere.
- Causes: – Infantile spasms caused by brain disorders like brain tumor, genetic chromosomal abnormalities, brain infection, brain development problem and injury to brain during birth.
- Treatment: – Infantile spasms are diagnosed by using ECG. Most of the child shows problem with eyesight, speech, hearing, writing skills and gross motor development. ACTH hormone is useful in the treatment of infantile spasms. Also vigabartin and steroid therapies are use in the treatment of infantile spasms.
