How does it work?

H4H categorize patients as:

• Those with an Annual Income of < Rs 72,000/-, those between Rs 72,000/- to Rs 2,00,000/-  & the third category between Rs 2,50,000/- to Rs 5,00,000/-.
• First and Second Category get Surgeries Free of Cost.
• Second Category can donate as much they can to the trust for surgeries for other under-privileged patients.
• These donors will get an feedback about their beneficiaries. The third category get surgeries at subsidize cost.

Patient Awareness Programs:

• Hearts for Hearts Hospital (H4H) detects heart disorders through camps, referrals, or directly. Through volunteers gradually rapport is sealed.
• A child with parents/adults with one attendee is transported and accommodated at Udhavum Karangal(UK), an NGO near Chennai. Surgeries are performed after preparation.
• Udhavum Karangal(UK) team & H4H team interact during preparation to keep these children under close observation & action.
• Their stay for preparation & performance of surgery at Public Health Centre (PHC) with its effective infrastructure allows quality care delivery.
• Proficient care is given in the post-operative ward. At Udhavum Karangal(UK) is extended for 1 more week.
• Operated are returned to their homes and reviewed periodically. Study analysis on the impact of surgery on cardiac function, individuals, families & society is made.
• Partnership with other NGOs helps in their education/career.
• The entire cost is borne by Multi-Source Funding – CMCHIS (Cheif Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme) & Other Funders.
• Continuous Upgradation of the entireteam’s knowledge and skillsm is ensured by interaction with various national and international cardiac centers.
